The Hutton Parish Neighbourhood Plan

This is your chance to influence what happens to the whole of the parish in the future.

In the preparation of a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NP) we must demonstrate that everyone in the parish has had a full and fair opportunity to give their views.  It will enable our community to have a positive vision for the future and play a stronger role in shaping the future character of the Parish.

We want your views to be included to ensure that the majority view of what is important to Hutton, Woodside, Elborough and rural residents goes into the preparation of the Draft Neighbourhood Plan.  This survey will be analysed and, as a result of what you tell us, a plan will be prepared for further consultation.  The plan will be presented at a public meeting in the Hutton Village Hall in a few months’ time.  Taking into account the views of residents at this meeting a draft plan will be prepared to go out to public consultation.  This plan will also undergo a formal examination, and if so approved, will then go to a referendum organised by the local authority for final approval.

The NP looks ahead to 2036 and will sit alongside the new North Somerset Local Plan which is being prepared at the moment.  The key aspect of the NP is the use of land, particularly for housing development, but the survey starts with a few questions about the general nature of our Parish and its setting so we can understand what you value about the Parish of Hutton.  It then asks what you see as acceptable or necessary for the future.

Without a Neighbourhood Plan any development will be decided entirely by other people.
