Committees

The following Committees of the Council deal with specific subjects:

Finance:

Composed of all ten parish councillors. This is by far the most important committee, responsible for setting the parish precept and setting and controlling all budgetary expenditure.

Planning:

Composed of nine members. This committee has a very important function in advising and making recommendations to North Somerset Council as the decision-making local planning authority. It is important to emphasise that the Parish Council does not decide on planning applications. All applications relating to the parish are sent to the Parish Council by North Somerset for consideration. We make representations and comments, recommend acceptance or rejection, but North Somerset is the decision-making body, which may or may not agree with our views, and itself decides whether or not planning approval is granted.

Playing Fields: Nine members.

Allotments:       Four members.

The Parish Council Office in the Village Hall has now permanently closed.

The Parish Clerk will attend the Village Coffee Mornings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday in each month

Otherwise the Office Hours will be Monday to Thursday 10.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
